Tips for Planning a Beach Vacation

To book an enjoyable family vacation at the beach, you must think about these important factors.

Where To Stay

The first thing you need to do when planning your beach vacation is figure out where you want to stay. While you have narrowed your ideal vacation spot down to the beach, you still need to figure out which beach you want to stay at. North Carolina coast rentals will look, feel, and cost very differently than beach house rentals on the west coast. Take some time to research different beaches and check out the surrounding areas for things to do while you are there.  After you decide on the location, think about what time of year you want to go. If you are interested in staying at a popular beach destination during peak times in the summer, it’s a good idea to start booking your trip in the fall. For lower prices and fewer crowds, consider renting before or after the prime season.

What To Bring

You may be so excited to get to the beach that you forget to pack essential beach items. Make a list of everything you will need before you begin to pack. Your rental contract will outline whether linens and other household items will be provided. Every time you put an item in your suitcase, cross it off your list. In addition to everything you would normally bring on vacation, you also need to pack for the beach. Consider using a separate duffel bag to bring along additional beach items like towels, bathing suits, sunscreen, bug spray, speakers, aloe vera, and a cooler for drinks. If you’re going to bring food, make sure it’s easy to eat with your hands and does not require much cleaning up afterward. Bring foldable beach chairs and umbrellas for additional shade and comfort.
