Poejazzi is a spoken word and music night with a killer line-up that will see queues right down the street… PoeJazzi was a Time Out No.1 Critic’s Choice in January 2007 and was listed among the 101 Things To Do In London 2007. Hosted by PiP: APoem In between People (myspace.com/apoeminbetweenpeople), this special night features:
Poeticat AKA Catherine Martindale: (Poet: myspace.com/poeticat ) Newest member of PiP and possibly the closest thing poetry has to Martha Wainwright. Young, insightful with an original voice, she almost stole the show twice at PoeJazzi. So here’s her doing a full set.
Nathan Penlington: (Poet: myspace.com/nathanpenlington) Poet, Awesome Magician, Host of Shortfuse, Tall guy, Wears glasses, Stories about Childhood, Insightful and Affectionate, Tall guy…
Zashiki Warashi: (Jazz: Myspace.com/drumandflute) To put it mildly, Drummer Akinori Fujimoto plays with the world reknowned Joji Hirota Taiko Group (Big world Music Percussion Fella). To put it loudly, let the music do the (rest of) the talking.
Plus a very, very special acoustic act to be announced soon….
There will also be a drinks bar and smoking area [! - Ed.] upstairs; so come on down, alone or with friends. Relax yourself, and enjoy.
Very limited spaces available so please book early.
(Psst…come hungry! The food is excellent.)
