July 5th-19th 2008

Last Night’s Dream Corrected

July 8, 2007
6:00 pmto8:00 pm

Willesden Herald and Pretend Genius present The Storytelling Tent at the Brent “Respect” Festival.

Featuring Vanessa Gebbie, Stephen Moran, Richard Wright and others to be announced. Enter the Storytelling Tent, a marquee with scattered cushions, as in a scene from the Arabian Nights for a rapture of poetry from the poets of Last Night’s Dream Corrected and award-winning tales from New Short Stories 1.

Last year 20,000 people attended the Brent “Respect” festival day in Roundwood Park. Not all in the Storytelling Tent. The Brent “Respect” festival day is linked to the Mayor of London’s “Rise” festival in Finsbury Park on the same day, a celebration of multi-culturalism. Yes, we dare speak its name. Other groups will present readings during the day and evening. Readings for children are from 2 to 5 pm.

After that, wild words. Hear real writers say new things. No wires, no glass screen, no cultural imprimatur. Go wild.

Venue: Roundwood Park, Harlesden, NW10 (Google Maps link)
